    Simge Uygur

    (Installation, Human Body)

Uygur, a graduate of Faculty of Fine Arts of Marmara University, follows a completely non-traditional way. The artist, who has participated in exhibitions in many different places including our country and abroad, is very striking with her unusual attitude in the material and also with the concepts she steers our minds. Especially with her works that focus on the human body, the artist refers to the origin of humanity, its relation with nature, its nakedness and being a pure human being. While doing so, she gives us the possibility to see not only the visible body, but also the spirit behind the sight. For the artist who uses many different materials such as paper, sand, coffee, metal, leather, everything that comes into the people's living space is a material. This point is now a point where the border between art and life becomes crystallized. Uygur, who produces art in different disciplines, brings together all these disciplines and produces very interesting installations. The artist, who presents the body parts to us as a symbol, also takes us on a deep journey on the meaning of these symbols.
